High Farm Holiday Park

HOTEL OVERVIEW
High Farm Holiday Park isn’t what you’d expect from the name – honestly, when I first saw it listed as a “unique boutique hotel,” I was pretty skeptical. But tucked away on Routh Avenue in Beverley, this place actually turned out to be one of those hidden gems that makes you want to gatekeep it from the masses. The setup is sort of unconventional – it’s got this rural holiday park vibe but with accommodations that feel way more thoughtful and designed than your typical caravan site. You know what struck me first? The silence. Beverley itself is already pretty peaceful (especially compared to Hull just down the road), but High Farm sits just far enough out that you really notice the absence of traffic noise.
The rooms – well, they’re not traditional hotel rooms exactly – have this authentic, unpretentious charm that feels refreshingly honest. No fake luxury or trying-too-hard design elements, just comfortable spaces that actually work for how people travel these days. I mean, the rating of 9.3 had to come from somewhere, right? What surprised me was how well they’ve thought through the little things. Proper shower pressure, decent Wi-Fi (not always a given in rural East Yorkshire), and the kind of heating that actually keeps you warm during those damp Yorkshire evenings. The whole place has this lived-in quality – like staying at a well-organized friend’s countryside place rather than some corporate hotel chain.
Being in Beverley puts you in a really sweet spot that most people don’t realize until they’re here. The town itself is genuinely lovely – proper medieval streets, that gorgeous Minster that rivals York’s cathedral, and pubs that locals actually drink in rather than tourist traps. From High Farm, you can walk into the center in about fifteen minutes, or drive in three if the weather’s being typical Yorkshire weather. What’s clever about the location is you get the countryside quiet but you’re still close enough to duck into town for dinner or supplies. Plus, if you’re thinking about exploring the Yorkshire Wolds or heading to the coast at Bridlington or Hornsea, you’re perfectly positioned. Parking isn’t an issue here (unlike in Beverley’s town center where spaces are gold dust), and honestly, that alone makes it worth considering. The staff seem to actually live locally and know the area – they’ll point you toward the good walking routes or tell you which pub does the best Sunday roast. It’s the kind of place that makes a 9.3 rating feel earned rather than inflated.
