Golden anchor chapel st leonards 3 bed caravan
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard “Golden Anchor Chapel St Leonards,” I was expecting some fancy marina hotel, but this is actually a brilliant 3-bedroom caravan that’s become something of a hidden gem on Trunch Lane. You know what struck me first? How quiet it is despite being so close to the coast. The owners have really thought this through – there’s proper parking (which, if you’ve been to Chapel St Leonards in summer, you’ll know is gold dust), and the whole setup feels more like a beach house than what you’d typically imagine when someone says “caravan holiday.”
The three bedrooms are surprisingly spacious, honestly. I mean, you’re not getting Hilton-sized rooms here, but there’s actual storage space and the beds are comfortable – not those thin mattresses you sometimes get in seaside rentals. What I really appreciated was how well-equipped the kitchen is. They’ve got everything you need for proper cooking, not just a kettle and microwave situation. The living area actually fits everyone without feeling cramped, and there’s this lovely view toward the dunes if you crane your neck a bit from the front windows. The beach is literally a five-minute walk down Trunch Lane – you can hear the waves on quiet evenings, which is magical, but it’s not so close that you get the weekend party crowd noise.
Chapel St Leonards itself is one of those places that’s managed to stay fairly authentic while Skegness gets all the tourist madness. You’ve got proper fish and chips at the seafront (the place near the car park does excellent haddock), and the beach stretches for miles without the crowds. The caravan’s positioned perfectly for exploring the area too – you can walk to the nature reserve at Gibraltar Point if you’re feeling energetic, or just potter about the village. What really sets this place apart though is the attention to detail. Clean towels that actually smell fresh, decent shower pressure, and – this might sound silly – but proper curtains that actually block out light, not those flimsy things that leave you wide awake at 5 AM. The owners clearly stay here themselves sometimes because everything works properly and there’s none of that “holiday rental neglect” you sometimes encounter. It’s the sort of place where you arrive planning to explore constantly but end up spending half your time just enjoying the space itself, maybe reading on the little deck area they’ve set up outside. Perfect for families who want proper seaside time without paying seaside hotel prices.
