I mean, you’re sleeping in what are essentially luxury tents, but they’ve thought through everything – proper beds, heating that actually works, and thank god, real bathrooms. The owners clearly know what they’re doing because all those little details that usually drive you crazy when you’re trying to be outdoorsy are just… handled. There’s something really satisfying about hearing the countryside wake up around you in the morning, but then being able to make a decent cup of coffee without fumbling around with a camp stove. The farm setting gives you that proper rural Norfolk experience – I watched the sun come up over fields that stretch on forever, and honestly, it’s the kind of view that makes you understand why people get obsessed with the English countryside.

What really won me over was how the place feels authentic rather than Instagram-perfect. The family running it clearly lives this lifestyle rather than just packaging it up for tourists. You’ll chat with them about the farm, the local area, maybe get pointed toward the better pubs in the village (and trust me, in a place like Aldeby, local intel matters). The whole experience feels more like staying with friends who happen to have an amazing setup rather than checking into a hotel. It’s about a fifteen-minute drive to Beccles if you need proper shops or restaurants, but honestly, part of the appeal is being far enough out that you actually disconnect. Cell service is spotty, which sounds terrible but ends up being refreshing. I spent more time reading and just paying attention to my surroundings than I have in ages. The location puts you right in the heart of the Broads if you’re into boats or walking, but even if you’re not particularly outdoorsy, there’s something deeply relaxing about the whole place. Just don’t expect luxury hotel service – this is more about experiencing a different pace of life for a few days.
