I mean, the amenities block could use a refresh – it’s clean but feels like it hasn’t been updated since the early 2000s. What I really appreciated though was how well-maintained the powered sites are. You’ll actually get decent water pressure in the showers, which anyone who’s stayed at budget parks knows isn’t a given. The camp kitchen is surprisingly well-equipped too, though it gets a bit chaotic around dinner time when families are all trying to cook at once.

Here’s the thing about this place – it’s genuinely popular with locals, which tells you something. During whale watching season (roughly July to November), you’ll see plenty of Queensland families who’ve been coming here for years. The staff seem to know half their guests by name, which creates this oddly welcoming atmosphere you don’t always get at tourist parks. The location really works in its favor too – you’re literally five minutes from the Urangan Marina if you’re doing a Fraser Island day trip, and there’s a decent IGA just down the road for supplies. Parking’s never an issue, unlike some of the beachfront places. The 7.0 rating feels about right, honestly – it’s solid and reliable rather than spectacular, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want. If you’re looking for Instagram-worthy luxury, keep looking, but if you want a functional base that won’t break the bank while you explore the Fraser Coast, this place delivers without any nasty surprises.
