Esperance Bay Holiday Park
Esperance Bay Holiday Park Overview
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Esperance Bay Holiday Park when I first pulled up on Dempster Street – I mean, it’s technically a holiday park, not some fancy resort – but honestly, this place gets so many things right that bigger hotels mess up completely. The location is actually brilliant once you realize what you’re working with here. You’re literally a stone’s throw from some of the most ridiculous beaches on the planet (and I’m not being dramatic – Esperance beaches are legitimately world-famous for a reason), but you’re also close enough to the town center that grabbing groceries or hitting up a decent café doesn’t require a whole expedition.
The setup is pretty straightforward – think clean, no-frills accommodation that doesn’t try to be something it’s not. What impressed me most was how well they maintain everything; the facilities are spotless, which is honestly refreshing after staying at places that look great in photos but fall apart under scrutiny. The staff actually know the area too, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how rare that is. They’ll tell you which beaches have the calmest water (Lucky Bay, obviously, but also when to hit Twilight Beach for the best light), where to spot kangaroos without dealing with tour bus crowds, and – this was clutch – which days the local markets are worth visiting. The whole vibe is relaxed in that authentic Australian way, not the forced “laid-back” atmosphere some places try to manufacture.
Here’s the thing about staying in Esperance – you’re here for the natural stuff, right? The pink lakes, the white sand beaches, maybe that drive out to Cape Le Grand National Park. This place works because it gives you a comfortable base without charging resort prices or making you feel like you need to dress up for breakfast. I actually loved being able to come back sandy and salty from a day at the beach without worrying about tracking sand through some pristine hotel lobby. The park’s got that practical, unpretentious feel that matches perfectly with what Esperance is all about. Plus – and this matters more than people realize – it’s quiet at night. No party crowds, no traffic noise, just the kind of peaceful evening you actually want after spending the day exploring one of Australia’s most stunning coastlines. For the price point and the location, honestly, it’s hard to argue with an 8.4 rating.

Location, close to the Esperance Bay foreshore and its wonderful walking path, was unexpected. And I had a swim. Good room facilities for the kitchen, and a comfy bed.

Very well located. Comfortable unit with everything necessary. Staff friendly. Great communication and organisation.

Clean and good facilities, big kitchen and fridge and nice beds. It was quiet at night despite being close to campers and caravans, very close to central areas with good eateries and shops, kids enjoyed the onsite playground, felt like a safe area. What could be improved: Wifi did not work from inside the cabin, must be a dead spot (tried from 4...

The bed was so comfortable, and the staff welcoming and friendly. The chalet we stayed in was gorgeous and although possibly too big for just a couple, perfect for a family.
Callie from Australia (December 9, 2024)
Park was laid out well. Room was well kept and clean. Staff were so so lovely. What could be improved: Honestly ONLY complaint wasn’t even anything the park did but the people staying in the room next to us had like 5 kids that would get up at 515am and play on the playground while squealing at the unholy hours of the morning (even though the...
