Edmonton Lodge

HOTEL OVERVIEW
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Edmonton Lodge at Pendle View Holiday Park, I wasn’t entirely sure what I’d gotten myself into. The name “holiday park” had me thinking caravan site vibes, but this place is actually something quite special tucked away in West Bradford. You know that feeling when you stumble onto something that’s way better than expected? That’s exactly what happened here.
The lodge itself sits in this lovely spot where you can actually see Pendle Hill on clear days (and trust me, in Lancashire, you appreciate those clear days when you get them). What struck me immediately was how quiet it gets in the evenings – I mean, proper countryside quiet where you can hear the sheep in the neighboring fields. The building has this modern cabin feel without being too polished, if that makes sense. It’s boutique in the best way – no stuffy formality, just thoughtful touches everywhere. The owner clearly knows what travelers actually want rather than what some corporate manual says they should want. There’s proper parking right outside, which honestly saved my sanity after driving through those narrow Ribble Valley lanes.
Inside, everything feels deliberately chosen rather than bought in bulk from some hotel supplier catalog. The kitchen actually has sharp knives and decent pans – you’d be amazed how rare that is in holiday rentals. I ended up cooking most evenings because the local Spar in West Bradford closes early, and honestly, sitting at that dining table looking out toward the hills with a glass of wine was pretty perfect. The heating works brilliantly too, which matters more than you’d think when you’re out here in the countryside during shoulder season. What really impressed me was the attention to comfort – the bed was genuinely excellent, and the shower had proper water pressure. Small things, but they make all the difference when you’re unwinding after tramping around the Forest of Bowland all day.
The location is sort of ideal if you want to explore this part of Lancashire without dealing with town noise. Clitheroe’s about ten minutes by car, which means you can pop into Cowman’s Famous Sausage Shop or grab dinner at one of the decent pubs, then retreat back to your peaceful little bubble. The Pendle Way walking route passes nearby if you’re into that sort of thing, and honestly, even if you’re not much of a hiker, the countryside around here is gorgeous for just wandering about with a camera. I’d definitely come back – it’s got that rare combination of being comfortable enough for a romantic getaway but practical enough for a walking holiday base. Just maybe bring some groceries from Clitheroe if you’re planning to cook, because that village shop really does close early.

Comfortable and very clean, the lodge was as new. Fantastic location on the holiday park, overlooking the twin lakes and views of Pendle and Wiswell heights. Corner plot so not overlooked too much. Loved looking out onto the lakes. Ideal for anyone who loves to fish. Nice circular walk around the park and lodge. Thoughtful welcome pack of wine beer...
