Dunes Village
Dunes Village Overview
First Impressions
Dunes Village sits right on Myrtle Beach‘s coastline like a small city unto itself — honestly, when you first pull up, the sheer size of this place is pretty impressive. It’s this towering three-star resort that stretches along North Ocean Boulevard, and you can immediately tell it’s built for families who want to spend serious time by the water. The lobby buzzes with that familiar energy of beach vacations — kids running around with pool floats, parents juggling coolers and beach bags.
The Accommodations
What I really appreciated about my room was how it felt more like staying in a beach condo than a typical hotel. Most units come with a full kitchen, which honestly saves you a fortune when you’re feeding a family for a week. The balcony views — well, that depends on what you book, but if you can swing an oceanfront unit, you’re basically watching the sunrise from bed. The furnishings aren’t fancy, but they’re comfortable and clearly designed to handle sandy feet and wet swimsuits.
The Resort Experience
Here’s where Dunes Village really shines — the amenities feel endless. There are multiple pools (including indoor ones for those random rainy days), lazy rivers that actually move at a decent pace, and a water slide that kept my kids entertained for hours. The spa services are decent if you need some adult downtime, though I’d honestly recommend just lounging by the adult-only pool area. You know what surprised me? How well they handle the crowds — even during peak summer, it never felt impossibly packed.
Location Perks
Being right on the beach means you’re literally steps from the sand, which is huge when you’re hauling chairs and umbrellas. But it’s also perfectly positioned for exploring Myrtle Beach — you can walk to several restaurant options along the strip, and the SkyWheel is close enough that you’ll probably end up riding it at least once. Parking is included, which matters more than you’d think in this area, especially during busy season when some places charge $20 a day.
Why Guests Love It
I mean, it comes down to value and space, really. You’re getting beachfront access, all those pools and activities, plus the freedom of having your own kitchen — all without paying resort prices. Sure, it’s not the newest property on the beach, but there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about Dunes Village. Families return here year after year because it delivers exactly what it promises: a solid beach vacation base where kids can be kids and parents can actually relax. The 8.3 rating makes perfect sense when you consider what most people actually want from a beach trip.

My family loved the water park and how close it was to the beach. We also loved the women who work at the information both when you walk in the palm tower her name was Lori Campbell she made our trip worth it. I highly recommend you stop and see Lori well there. I did not try the breakfast but the location could not have been better. Every restaurant whether it be fast food or fine dining was within minutes of the resort. Walmart was also a 10 minute or less drive away. The resort was fantastic. There's so much for everyone to do. You have access to both towers so it doubles the fun. The beds were clean...
