Discovery Parks – Busselton
You know what struck me first about Discovery Parks Busselton? It’s actually set back from the Bussell Highway enough that you don’t get that constant road noise – something I honestly wasn’t expecting when I saw the address. The place sits on this sprawling bit of land that feels way more spacious than your typical holiday park, and there’s this immediate sense that families have been coming here for years (which they probably have, judging by how some guests seemed to know exactly where everything was).
The cabins themselves are pretty solid – I mean, we’re talking proper four-star territory here, not those cramped little boxes you sometimes get at caravan parks. Ours had this decent-sized deck where you could actually sit with your morning coffee and watch the kids ride their bikes around the internal roads without feeling like you were living on top of your neighbors. The kitchen was surprisingly well-equipped too, which matters when you’re doing that classic Busselton thing of buying fresh seafood from the boat harbor and cooking it yourself. Speaking of the harbor – it’s maybe a ten-minute drive, fifteen if you hit the lights wrong on Queen Street, so you’re close enough to the action but far enough out to feel like you’re properly on holiday.
What really works about this place is how they’ve managed to keep that relaxed, unpretentious vibe while still having everything actually function properly. The pool area gets busy around 3 PM when families roll back from the beach, but mornings are perfect for a quiet swim. The playground is one of those newer setups that doesn’t look like it’ll give you tetanus, and honestly, the kids seemed more interested in it than the beach some days. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that resort-style fuss, just friendly staff who clearly know the area well enough to give you actual useful tips about where to grab dinner in town or which beaches are best for little ones. The 8.3 rating makes sense when you experience it; it’s the kind of place that doesn’t try to be fancy but gets the important stuff right, which is exactly what you want when you’re juggling kids, beach gear, and the desire to actually relax for a few days.

I needed bottled water very early Sunday morning, and the admin Centre was closed, I thought gee a vending machine near the camp kitchen would have been perfect

Heated pool, especially during cooler months. Beach access. Clean surroundings. Complete with kitchen utensils.

Our cabin screen door keeps on dislodging. The supply of soap, shampoos, and conditioner is only 1 set for 3 nights, and it is not enough for 4 persons, especially travelling from interstate.
