Caravan F7 Aberystwyth holiday village

HOTEL OVERVIEW
You know what caught me off guard about Caravan F7? I honestly wasn’t expecting much from a holiday village on Penparcau Road – it’s not exactly the postcard part of Aberystwyth, and the name makes it sound like some generic caravan park. But this place is actually doing something pretty special here. The whole setup feels deliberately different, like someone took the traditional British holiday camp concept and gave it a proper boutique makeover without losing that relaxed, unpretentious vibe that makes seaside breaks work.
The location is smarter than it first appears, actually. Sure, you’re not right on the seafront, but you’re tucked away from all the summer madness around the pier and Constitution Hill – which means you can actually sleep at night when the students are out or during peak holiday season. It’s maybe a fifteen-minute walk down to the proper town center and the beach, which is nothing really, and you get to cut through some of the quieter residential streets that most tourists never see. There’s something quite nice about feeling like you’re staying somewhere locals actually live rather than in the middle of the tourist circus. The whole Penparcau area has this laid-back, slightly artsy feel – you’ll spot the odd creative type wandering around, probably connected to the university up the hill.
What really works here is how they’ve managed to create this boutique experience without all the fussy pretension you sometimes get. The accommodations have real character – each one feels thoughtfully put together rather than cookie-cutter identical, and there’s proper attention to detail in the furnishing and layout. I mean, you’re still essentially in elevated caravan-style units, but they’ve been done with genuine style and comfort in mind. The whole place has this relaxed, almost Scandinavian-influenced aesthetic that feels fresh against the traditional Welsh seaside backdrop. Parking is straightforward, which is honestly a blessing if you’ve ever tried to find a space down by Aberystwyth’s waterfront in summer. Check-in was refreshingly human – none of that corporate hotel efficiency, but in a good way. It felt more like staying with friends who happen to run a really well-organized place.
The 9.2 rating makes complete sense once you’re there – it’s one of those places that exceeds expectations by being genuinely thoughtful rather than trying too hard. You get the community feel of a holiday village but with the comfort and style of a boutique stay, plus you’re perfectly positioned to explore both Aberystwyth proper and the wider Ceredigion coastline. It’s particularly brilliant if you’re planning to spend time along the coast – Devil’s Bridge, the Rheidol Valley, all those hidden beaches north of town – because you can come back to somewhere that actually feels like a retreat rather than just accommodation.
