Bull Rush Retreats luxury hot tub lodge at Tattershall Lakes

HOTEL OVERVIEW
You know what caught me off guard about Bull Rush Retreats? I’ve driven past Tattershall Lakes countless times on the A153, always thinking it was just another caravan park situation, but this place is tucked away like a proper secret. When you pull off Sleaford Road and wind through to find your lodge, it honestly feels like you’ve discovered something special that most people are missing.
The whole setup is just… well, it’s not trying to be a traditional hotel at all, which is exactly why it works. Your lodge sits right there overlooking the water – and I mean properly overlooking it, not some distant glimpse through trees. The hot tub is the real star here (obviously), and they’ve positioned it so you can soak while watching the lake without feeling like you’re on display to every dog walker. The water stays hot even when it’s properly cold outside, which matters more than you’d think when you’re planning a winter escape. Inside, everything feels deliberately cozy rather than fancy for the sake of it – think quality linens and a kitchen that’s actually equipped for real cooking, not just a kettle and microwave setup. The shower pressure is fantastic, which always seems like a small thing until you’re somewhere with terrible water pressure.
What I really appreciate is how quiet it gets here, especially midweek. Tattershall Lakes can get busy during summer weekends with all the water sports crowd, but the lodge feels separated from all that chaos. You’re close enough to walk down to the lake proper if you want to hire a kayak or whatever, but far enough that you’re not dealing with jet ski noise at 7am. The village itself is pretty sleepy – there’s the Fortescue Arms if you want a decent pub meal without driving anywhere, and honestly, their fish and chips are better than they have any right to be. For anything more substantial, you’re looking at about fifteen minutes to Sleaford, but that’s part of the appeal really. Sometimes you just want to be properly away from things without being completely isolated. The whole experience just feels thoughtfully put together by people who actually understand what makes a place relaxing rather than just expensive.

The lodge was luxurious. By far the best we've stayed in. Very spacious and clean. Nice home comforts. Good location. Great communication with the owner. And was very grateful for the special touches to help us celebrate a birthday

This was a great family lodge. Super clean and situated on a great plot: quiet, yet only a short walk from amenities. We were blown away by the whole of the lodge and the hot tub. Would definitely book again.

The property was truly stunning. So clean, spacious and tidy and clearly well looked after. All towels and bedding was made up and we really didn’t need to worry about anything. The hot tub was clean, the veranda was fantastic and a lovely seating area also. The bathrooms were exceptional clean and tidy, we were so impressed.
