The pool area doesn’t feel cramped, even when it’s busy, and there are these little nooks with hammocks scattered around where you can escape if the kids get too loud. The staff genuinely know the area too, which makes a difference when you’re trying to figure out which tour operators are worth your money versus the tourist traps. They’ll tell you straight up that the sunset at Airlie Beach Lagoon is free and just as stunning as those expensive cocktail cruises (well, almost). Location-wise, you’re about a 10-minute drive to the main Airlie strip, but here’s the thing – you’ll actually want to come back to your cabin at night instead of feeling stuck in party central. The resort runs a shuttle during peak times, though I’d recommend having a car since you’ll want to explore places like Bowen for those famous mangoes or hit up some of the quieter beaches that the day tours skip.
