I actually loved the evening walks around the property; there’s something about the way the light hits the river in the late afternoon that makes you understand why people retire here. The only minor thing I’d mention is that if you’re in a tent, maybe bring extra pegs – the coastal wind can pick up unexpectedly, especially in the afternoon. But really, that 9.1 rating makes complete sense once you’ve spent a few days here. It’s one of those places where everything just works the way it should, without any fuss or pretension.
