B3 Sunny Tides

HOTEL OVERVIEW
You know what struck me first about B3 Sunny Tides? It’s one of those places that doesn’t need a fancy star rating because it’s just doing its own thing really well. I mean, when you’re perched right in Brixham with those harbor views, you don’t need some corporate committee telling you how many stars you deserve. The whole place has this relaxed, lived-in vibe that honestly feels more like staying at a friend’s stylish seaside house than a typical hotel. The owners clearly put thought into every detail – I’m talking about the kind of touches that make you pause and think “oh, that’s clever” rather than the generic corporate art you usually get.
What really gets me about this spot is how it captures that proper Devon coastal feeling without trying too hard. You can actually hear the gulls in the morning (which sounds annoying but is somehow perfect), and there’s this salty air thing happening that just makes you breathe deeper. The rooms have character – not the fake “rustic charm” nonsense, but genuine personality with local artwork and furniture that looks like someone actually chose it rather than ordered it from a hotel catalog. And honestly, the beds are fantastic, which matters more than people admit when they’re booking places. I slept better there than I have in ages, though that might’ve been the sea air working its magic too.
The location is actually brilliant if you know Brixham at all. You’re close enough to wander down to the harbor for fish and chips (and trust me, the queues at the good places are worth it), but far enough up that you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos all day. Parking isn’t a nightmare like it can be in the town center – there’s space, which anyone who’s driven around Devon fishing villages will appreciate. The whole area gets properly busy during school holidays, but B3 somehow maintains this calm bubble. I’d definitely go back, and that’s saying something because I’m usually the type who wants to try somewhere new each time. But places like this, with that 9.7 rating that actually feels earned rather than manipulated, they stick with you. It’s the kind of spot where you find yourself planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out.

How homely it felt, milk was left for us, teas coffees and even hot chocolate, plenty of space for sleeping arrangements as we are a family of 6.
