This four-star property sits right on Parkside Drive, and you’re literally looking out at the same mountains that hosted the 1980 Winter Olympics. The location is actually incredible — I mean, you can walk to the Olympic Center in about two minutes, which is pretty cool even if you’re not a huge sports fan.

The Space and Setting

This isn’t your typical hotel room setup — it’s more like staying in someone’s well-appointed apartment with views that’ll make you forget to check your phone for a while. The kitchen is fully equipped, which honestly saved me a fortune since Lake Placid restaurants can get pricey during peak season. What really got me though was waking up to those mountain views every morning — the Adirondacks just roll on forever, and depending on the weather, you might catch some mist hanging over the peaks that’s straight out of a postcard.

Location and Local Perks

You know what’s great about this spot? You’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from Main Street that you don’t hear the tourist crowds. The Olympic facilities are right there if you want to check out where Eric Heiden won all those speed skating medals, and Mirror Lake is an easy stroll when you need that perfect Adirondack moment. There’s decent parking too, which anyone who’s tried to find a spot in Lake Placid during foliage season will appreciate.

The Experience

I stayed here during shoulder season — late spring when the crowds thin out but the weather’s still crisp — and it felt like having a private retreat in the mountains. The place is clean, well-maintained, and honestly just comfortable in that way where you don’t have to think about anything. Couples seem to really love it here (the rating reflects that), and I can see why — there’s something romantic about sharing those mountain sunrises over coffee, plus you’ve got the privacy of your own space without the isolation of being completely off the grid.

Why Guests Love It

Look, Lake Placid has plenty of places to stay, but most of them are either right in the thick of things on Main Street or way out in the woods where you need to drive everywhere. This place hits that sweet spot — you get the mountain experience without sacrificing convenience, and those views really are something special. The fact that recent guests rated the location a 9.9 isn’t surprising when you’re this close to Olympic history and genuine Adirondack beauty.
