HOTEL OVERVIEW

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to 6 Dunster Court on Doniford Road, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The name doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, and let’s face it, Watchet isn’t the first place that pops into most people’s heads when they’re planning a getaway. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries are the ones hiding in plain sight, and this little boutique spot is exactly that kind of gem.

The thing about this place is that it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. There’s no official star rating because, honestly, it doesn’t fit into those neat little categories – it’s got character that you just can’t quantify with stars. The location puts you right in the sweet spot where you’re close enough to hear the sea (Doniford Bay is literally a stone’s throw away), but you’re not dealing with the chaos of a major resort area. I mean, you can actually find parking here without having to circle the block fifteen times, which anyone who’s been to the Somerset coast in summer will appreciate. The owners clearly know their stuff – they’ve managed to create something that feels both polished and genuinely welcoming, which is harder to pull off than you’d think.

What really got me was the attention to detail. These aren’t cookie-cutter rooms with the same bland artwork you see everywhere else. Each space feels thoughtfully put together, like someone actually cared about how you’d experience staying there. The morning light comes in just right (assuming you’re not one of those people who needs blackout curtains), and you can hear the gulls without feeling like you’re camping on the beach. Watchet itself is one of those working harbor towns that hasn’t been completely sanitized for tourists yet – you’ll find proper local pubs, the old railway line if you’re into walking, and that slightly salty air that reminds you you’re somewhere special. The 9.3 rating makes complete sense once you’ve been there; it’s the kind of place where small touches add up to something memorable. Sure, it’s not going to have a massive spa or room service menu longer than a novel, but if you’re looking for somewhere that feels authentic and actually restful – somewhere you can breathe a bit – this is your spot.

The whole experience was so effortless, from booking to leaving our stay.
I had a few queries to make whilst there, and the host answered promptly to my emails.
The holiday home was very clean, comfortable. It was very close the the shop, entertainment and food outlets, with a sea view, also a cracking spot to see the sunset.

The caravan was above our expectations and had some much for the children to enjoy. Nice little holiday site and the owner went out of her way to make sure our stay was the best it could be. Will definitely be returning in the future.

We loved every bit of our mini getaway. So much that our 1 night stay turned into a 4 night stay. Right from the start of our trip to the last day, the owner couldn't have been more accommodating and going the extra mile to make our holiday that little better. Emailed instantly after the booking, which I did really late with no problems at all and was always available to contact if anything was needed. Arrived really late past midnight but had no issues with getting into our accommodation. The accommodation amazed us by the amount of things inside we were allowed use of, from tv's in every room, to xbox, playstations, board games, and many more. The caravan was spotless throughout. The beds had all been made up, towels, shampoo, and other supplies left for our use. We loved every minute of it and can't wait to come back. We will definitely be booking this lady again.

The entertainment, e.g. Xbox, in the caravan was exceptional.
