3 Bed Holiday Home, Doniford Bay
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to 3 Bed Holiday Home, Doniford Bay, I’ll be honest β I wasn’t expecting much from a holiday park accommodation. But this four-star place actually surprised me in the best way. The home sits within Doniford Bay Holiday Park, and there’s something genuinely peaceful about the whole setup that you don’t always get with these kinds of stays. You know what really struck me? How quiet it was, even with other families around β the layout gives everyone their own space without feeling cramped.
Location & Setting
The location near Watchet is honestly brilliant if you’re looking to explore the Somerset coast without dealing with tourist crowds. I mean, you’re literally minutes from some gorgeous coastal walks, and the nearby harbor town has this authentic working port feel that’s refreshing. What couples seem to love most (and I can see why the feedback mentions this) is how you can easily slip away for romantic sunset walks along the beach. The holiday park itself feels more like a small community than a typical resort β there’s space to breathe and actually connect with nature.
The Accommodation
Inside, the three-bedroom setup works really well for different group dynamics. The main room has this comfortable, lived-in feel without being shabby, and honestly, the beds are better than I expected. The kitchen is properly equipped β not just the bare minimum you sometimes get in holiday rentals. I actually cooked most evenings and had everything I needed, which saved money and meant we could enjoy meals with that lovely view from the windows. The whole place feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile rental property.
Activities & Surroundings
What I really appreciated was how the holiday park strikes this balance between having amenities when you want them and letting you disappear into the countryside when you don’t. The coastal path network from here is fantastic β you can walk for hours along dramatic cliffs and hidden coves. For rainy days (and let’s be real, this is Somerset), there are indoor facilities, but honestly, some of my best moments were just sitting with a cup of tea watching the weather roll in across the bay. The nearby Quantock Hills are perfect for proper hiking if that’s your thing.
Why Guests Love It
I think what makes this place work so well is that it doesn’t try too hard to be something it’s not. It’s comfortable, well-located, and gives you that proper seaside holiday feeling without the chaos of bigger resorts. The fact that recent guests rate the location so highly makes complete sense β you’re getting genuine Somerset coastal beauty with easy access to both adventure and relaxation. Whether you’re a couple looking for peaceful walks or a family wanting space to spread out, this place delivers exactly what it promises. The parking is straightforward, the whole experience feels authentic, and you’ll leave actually feeling refreshed rather than needing another holiday to recover.
The best resort villages feature carefully designed properties that harmonize with their natural surroundings, offering guests authentic experiences combined with luxury amenities and exceptional hospitality.

We had never stayed anywhere like this so we weren't sure what to expect but the accommodation was in excellent condition with good quality furniture (very comfy sofa) & everything you need for a good family break. The shower was very good, kitchen is small but very functional & two toilets were really useful. 3 bedrooms are all cosy (as you would...

Had most of what you need. Lovely space outside to eat and chill in the sun. Loads of stuff for kids to do. We only stayed a weekend so didnβt buy a play pass but still plenty to do. Beach is quiet and full of shells and fossils. Loved that it was all there and didnβt have to drive anywhere.

The property itself was really nice in terms of decor.

We are on holiday from Australia. Although the van itself is nice there were no sheets pillow cases or towels when we arrived. Also the park owners had no idea we were coming and no idea of the van no. We were to stay in as the van was a private one booked through bookings.com. the assistant was very helpful and managed to contact the owner and...
