You know what? I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I first pulled up to 252 Wilksworth – I mean, “caravan park” had me picturing something completely different. But honestly, this place completely flipped my assumptions. It’s tucked away on Cranborne Road, and while Wimborne Minster itself gets pretty busy during market days, this little spot feels surprisingly peaceful once you’re settled in. The two-bedroom setup is actually really thoughtfully done – not massive, but everything’s where it should be, and there’s this comfortable, lived-in quality that makes you feel at home pretty much immediately.

The pool access is what initially caught my eye (because let’s be real, finding decent pool facilities around here isn’t always easy), but it’s actually the whole vibe of the place that won me over. The hosts clearly know what they’re doing – check-in was refreshingly straightforward, no fussy paperwork or waiting around. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets in the evenings, which is saying something since you’re still close enough to pop into Wimborne proper for dinner or groceries. The kitchen’s properly equipped too, not like some places where you get a kettle and good luck with the rest. I ended up cooking quite a bit because, well, the local Tesco is literally a few minutes away, and there’s something nice about having your morning coffee while looking out at the surprisingly well-maintained grounds.

I’ll be honest – this isn’t your typical boutique hotel experience, and that’s exactly why it works so well. There’s no pretentious lobby or over-the-top amenities, just solid comfort and genuine hospitality. The location’s actually pretty clever when you think about it – you’re close enough to explore the New Forest (seriously, some gorgeous walks just a short drive away), but you’re not dealing with the tourist crowds that hit places like Lyndhurst. Even getting to Bournemouth’s beaches is totally doable for a day trip. The 9.5 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s one of those places that just gets the basics right while adding those little touches that matter. The beds are properly comfortable, the shower pressure’s actually decent, and the whole place just feels clean and well-cared-for. It’s the kind of spot I’d definitely book again, especially if I’m traveling with family or friends who want their own space but still want to hang out together.
